My son, who is 6, has been attending the swimming classes at False Creek Community Centre in Vancouver for the past month. The instructor, Lisa, is fantastic — she manages to keep the kids engaged and excited about learning new swimming techniques. They swim every Saturday morning, and although the facility is well-maintained, we did experience some long lines during the check-in process which can be a bit frustrating with young kids in tow. However, once we got through, the class size was small, allowing for more personalized attention. My son has already improved his strokes and made a couple of friends in the process. Pickup is smooth as well, which is a relief. Overall, it’s a solid program that I would recommend, just be prepared for a bit of a wait at the beginning!

I took my 6-year-old to the swimming program at False Creek Community Centre in Vancouver last Saturday, and overall, it was a solid experience. The instructor, Sarah, was very engaging and made sure every child felt included. My son loved practicing his strokes and even made a new friend in the process, which was nice to see. However, we did encounter some long lines during check-in, which was a bit frustrating, especially with a young child who was eager to jump in the pool. The facility itself was clean and well-maintained, and I felt comfortable letting my son enjoy the water under the watchful eye of the instructors. I would recommend this program, but I'd advise arriving a bit earlier to avoid the wait. It’s a great way for active kids to burn off energy while having fun!
