Trust & ranking transparency
We're going to tell you exactly how this site works. If anything below feels wrong, please tell us.
1. Where our information comes from
Every program on Camplee comes from one of three sources, and we tell you which one on every page:
- Factual aggregation from public sources (e.g. Google Places, the provider's own website). We never copy reviews from other sites.
- Verified family contributions from parents who say their child attended the program.
- Provider-claimed updates when a provider has claimed their listing and edited details directly.
2. How we rank programs
The default ranking on every page is a transparent blend of:
- How well the program matches your family profile (if you have one)
- How well it matches the other families who searched what you searched
- Average rating from verified contributions, weighted by recency
- Structural completeness (does the program have prices, schedule, certifications listed?)
Providers cannot pay to influence ranking. If we ever sell sponsored placement, it will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" and held to a separate quality bar. We have no plans to do this in our first year.
3. Why some pages aren't shown to Google
Many program pages on Camplee are noindexed — meaning Google won't see them — until they have real family contributions on them. This is deliberate. Thin, unverified pages help no one. We only index pages that meet a quality threshold (typically: at least one verified contribution plus structured information, or three contributions in total).
4. How we use AI
AI helps us synthesize information, draft summaries, and match recommendations. AI never:
- Invents a program, price, schedule, or certification
- Claims a program is "safe" or "high-quality" without sourcing
- Publishes a summary that hasn't been reviewed by a human
Every AI-generated summary on a program page is labelled "AI Summary — verify before booking" and shows when it was last reviewed by a human editor.
5. How we verify contributions
Every contributor has a verified email address and waits 24 hours after signup before contributions go live. We limit each person to five contributions per week. Every contribution passes through automated moderation and, on borderline cases, human review.
Contributors who upload (privately) a registration receipt get a "Verified Attendance" badge on that contribution. This is the strongest signal of authenticity. Providers can dispute suspected fake reviews via our trust queue; we investigate within 72 hours.
6. What we never claim
Camplee is not a regulator. We do not verify safety certifications, accreditation, background checks, or insurance status. We surface what providers claim and what families report — and we always urge you to confirm directly with the provider before enrolling.
7. Found something wrong?
Spotted a fake review, an inaccurate listing, or a safety issue? Report it on any program page — or email us. We respond to every report within 72 hours.
