UBC Camps Headquarters — Skiing & Snowboarding

I enrolled my 9-year-old son in the UBC Camps Headquarters Skiing & Snowboarding program in Vancouver, and we had a solid experience overall. The staff were incredibly engaged; our instructor, Rob, took the time to ensure each child felt comfortable on the slopes, which really made a difference. My son was thrilled to learn how to tackle some basic slopes and even built his confidence enough to try the small jump they had set up. Pickup was straightforward, and I appreciated the small group size, which allowed for personal attention. However, I did notice at times there were long lines at the equipment rental desk, which could be a hassle when you're eager to hit the slopes. Still, it was a great opportunity for my son to get outside and stay active during the winter, and he even made a new friend. I'd recommend this program, but be prepared for some waiting at the start of the day.

I did notice a slight annoyance during the drop-off; there were long lines that could be frustrating, especially on busy mornings. However, once we got past that, the rest of the day went smoothly. The small group size allowed for more personalized attention, which was a huge plus. At around $400 for the week, it felt reasonable for the value provided, considering the quality of instruction and the fun activities planned. I would recommend this program, but just be prepared for potentially long wait times when arriving.
