Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre — Robotics

My son recently attended the Robotics program at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre in Vancouver. He’s 9 and was excited to build his first robot. The instructor, Lisa, was very engaging and made sure that every child was involved. They worked in small groups, which was great, as it allowed for more personalized attention. My son really loved the creative project aspect, and he was able to create a simple robot that could move around. He even made a new friend during the class, which was a bonus. However, the center was quite crowded that day, making pickup a bit chaotic. Overall, I think it was a solid experience and would recommend it, especially for kids who enjoy hands-on learning and creativity.

The small group size allowed for personalized attention, and my child even made a new friend there. One minor annoyance was the lack of clear information regarding the pickup time, which led to some confusion, but it was manageable. The facility itself is quite busy, being part of a larger complex, which means there might be distractions from other activities. Still, I think it's a great fit for kids interested in STEM. I would recommend it, especially for those who enjoy hands-on projects.
