The Luminous Elephant — Photography

My son attended The Luminous Elephant photography program in Vancouver for a few weeks, and overall, it has been a solid experience. The classes are intimate, which allows for personalized attention. The instructor, Maya, took the time to connect with each child, encouraging them to explore their creative sides. My son loved the project where they had to capture the essence of the neighborhood, and he came home excited to share the photos he took of local murals. One minor annoyance was the chaotic drop-off process; it felt a bit rushed and disorganized at times. However, we found that once we settled in, the environment was very welcoming. He’s a bit shy, but he made a friend during the course, which was nice to see. I would recommend this program for kids who are looking to express themselves through photography and enjoy a supportive atmosphere.

My 12-year-old daughter has been attending The Luminous Elephant photography classes in Vancouver for a couple of months now, and overall, it's been a good experience. The staff, especially our instructor Jenna, is highly engaged and makes the classes both fun and educational. My daughter has learned a lot about composition and lighting, and she particularly enjoyed the project where they created a photo series around a theme. It's great to see her so focused and creative. However, I do wish the pickup process was a bit smoother, as there were long lines at the end of the session, which can be a bit chaotic at times. Still, the small group size means she gets plenty of attention and support. If your child enjoys photography and creativity, I would recommend this program, just be prepared for some wait times during pickup.
