Arbutus Music Academy Co-Op — Music

We enrolled my 6-year-old son at the Arbutus Music Academy for weekly music lessons, and overall, we’ve had a positive experience. The instructor, Emily, was fantastic at engaging the kids and was always smiling while teaching them the basics of playing the piano. My son built a small song by the end of the first month, which he was so proud of. The small group size seemed to work well, allowing everyone to get individual attention. However, the pickup process was a bit chaotic at times, especially with the lines forming outside the building. It can get a little crowded, especially on performance days. Despite this, I appreciate the creativity being nurtured in my child, and he has even made a friend in class. I’d recommend the program to other parents looking for a fun and supportive environment for their kids to explore music.

Our instructor, Sarah, was enthusiastic and made learning piano fun with creative projects that kept the kids engaged. One highlight was the chance for the kids to perform a little piece at the end of the class, which boosted their confidence. However, the pick-up process can be a bit frustrating, as there were long lines at times—definitely something to watch out for. While the program’s price (around $100) is on the higher side for our budget, the quality of instruction and the environment made it worthwhile for us. I would recommend this academy if you're looking for a solid music program for younger children.
