shy

We enrolled our 6-year-old in the Mandarin program at GrowKids in Burnaby, and overall, we're quite satisfied. The small group size really helped our shy child feel comfortable and engaged. The instructor, Mia, was particularly good at making the lessons interactive—my child even built a small model of a Chinese dragon as a creative project, which they were excited to show us at pickup. However, there was quite a long line for pickup, which was a bit frustrating after a busy day. Still, the supportive environment and the focus on creative learning kept our child excited about returning each week. I’d recommend this program for other parents, just be prepared for some wait time during pickups.

My 6-year-old has been attending the GrowKids Education Center's Mandarin program in Burnaby for a few months now, and overall, we've had a solid experience. The small group size allows for more personalized attention, which my child appreciates. The instructor, Lily, has a wonderful way of making learning Mandarin fun and interactive. They did a creative project where the kids built their own dragon puppets, which sparked a lot of enthusiasm and excitement at home. One small annoyance was the long lines during drop-off; it can be a bit chaotic at times, especially on weekends. However, the staff are engaged and helpful, which eases the process. My child has made a couple of friends there, and it’s heartwarming to see them excited about Mandarin. I would recommend this program, but just be prepared for a busy start to each class.
