focused

My son attended the weekly Brainiacs Adventures Chess program in Vancouver for kids ages 8-10, and overall, it was a positive experience. The instructor, Adam, was particularly engaging, making each session fun while teaching the kids strategic thinking through chess. My son not only learned new moves but also made a friend in the small group setting. I appreciated the individual attention each child received because it really helped my son focus. However, I did find the pickup process a bit chaotic with long lines that could have been better organized. It would be nice if they implemented a clearer system to manage the flow of parents and kids at the end of the class. Despite this minor annoyance, I would recommend the program to parents looking for a constructive activity that fosters social interaction and cognitive skills.

shy

My son attended the Brainiacs Adventures chess program in Vancouver, and overall, it was a solid experience. He’s 9 and somewhat shy, but the small group size really helped him open up. Instructor Mia was fantastic; she engaged the kids with fun strategies while keeping the atmosphere light. They built their own chess boards one week, which he loved. However, the pickup process was a bit chaotic. There were long lines, and it took longer than expected to get him at the end of the session. We paid around $200, which felt reasonable for the quality of instruction, but I wish they'd streamline the pickup. Despite this, he’s made a friend and looks forward to returning each week. I would recommend this program, especially for kids who enjoy strategic games!
