Spotlight Academy North York — Theatre

My son attended the Spotlight Academy's theatre program in North York this past semester, and overall, we were quite pleased with the experience. The instructors, particularly Ms. Lily, were wonderfully engaged and made each class enjoyable. He got to work on a musical theatre piece that involved not just acting but also singing and choreography, which he loved. The small group size allowed for personalized attention, making it less intimidating for the kids to express themselves. However, pickup was a bit chaotic at times, with long lines forming as parents waited. This was a minor inconvenience considering the positive environment and opportunities for creativity. My son made a couple of friends, and I'm sure he'll continue pursuing his passion for theatre here. I’d recommend it for parents looking to boost their child's confidence and creativity through the performing arts.

My daughter, who is quite outgoing and creative, took part in the Spotlight Academy’s Theatre program in North York this past fall. She really enjoyed the classes held after school at 532 Champagne Drive. The instructors, particularly a lovely lady named Mia, were genuinely engaged with the kids, which made for a great experience. My daughter came home excited about the musical scenes they worked on and was particularly proud of a short skit she performed with her small group. The only downside was the drop-off situation, which felt a bit chaotic with parents rushing in and out. However, once inside, the environment was very supportive and encouraging. I would recommend it for kids who love performing arts and are looking for a creative outlet. Just be prepared for the busy pick-up times.
