Great Big Theatre Company Toronto / Beach — Theatre

We recently enrolled our 6-year-old in the Great Big Theatre Company's summer camp in Toronto, and overall, it was a positive experience. The program is packed with activities from acting to improvisation, and my child particularly loved the musical theatre sessions where they got to perform a mini-show. The staff, especially an instructor named Sarah, was incredibly engaged and kept the kids excited about each day's activities. They also incorporated outdoor games, which was a great way for the kids to expend some energy. However, drop-off on the first day was a bit chaotic, with a long line and not enough staff directing traffic. It improved after that, but it was a rough start. Despite the drop-off hassle, I would recommend this camp for its creative projects and the friendly environment it provides for outgoing children.

The staff, particularly an instructor named Rachel, were engaged and encouraging, which helped our son feel comfortable participating. He particularly enjoyed the outdoor games they incorporated into the schedule. However, we did experience some long lines during drop-off, which was a bit frustrating. Still, the overall atmosphere was welcoming, and he came home excited every day, sharing stories about his new friends and the skits they worked on. I would recommend it, especially for kids who enjoy being creative and expressive, but just be prepared for a little chaos during arrival.
