Gathering Wild — Theatre

I enrolled my 6-year-old in the Gathering Wild Theatre program in Toronto and overall, it was a solid experience. The staff, particularly our instructor Maya, were genuinely engaged with the kids and created a welcoming environment. My child was shy at first, but by the end of the day, they were excited to share their improvised skit with me. The small group size allowed for plenty of interaction, which I appreciated. However, there was a frustrating wait during pickup—lines were long and it felt a bit chaotic. We also had to provide our own snacks, which was fine but it would have been nice if they had offered some healthy options. Despite these minor annoyances, my child came home full of enthusiasm and creativity, making a new friend along the way. I'd recommend this program, especially for shy kids looking to build confidence in a creative setting, but just be prepared for a bit of waiting during pickup.

It was wonderful to see her come out of her shell. The creativity fostered through the activities was impressive. However, there were some long lines during drop-off which made the mornings a bit chaotic. I also felt that the price could be slightly lower given the competition in the area. Still, I would recommend this program for kids who enjoy drama and want to make friends in a supportive environment.
