Factory Theatre — Theatre

I enrolled my 9-year-old in the Factory Theatre program in Toronto, and overall, it was a solid experience. The instructor, Sarah, was incredibly engaged and made the kids feel comfortable right away. My child was thrilled to participate in creating a short play, and it was impressive to see how they developed their characters and scripts over the weeks. The small group size allowed for focused attention, which really benefited the kids, especially those who are a bit shy. One minor annoyance was the parking situation since it can get crowded around the theatre during pickup times, but we managed. My child made a friend in the program, which was a lovely bonus. I would recommend this program to other parents, especially those with creative kids who enjoy storytelling and performance.

Each week, she works on different aspects of theatre, from acting to set design. Last week, she created a colorful backdrop for a scene they were rehearsing, which she was really proud of. The instructor, Sarah, has been fantastic at keeping the kids engaged and excited about their projects. Pickup is generally smooth, but there have been a few occasions where we had to wait longer than expected for the kids to be ready, which can be a bit frustrating. That said, the small group size allows for more personalized attention, and my daughter has made a close friend through the program. If your child loves being creative and is comfortable in a group setting, I’d definitely recommend giving Factory Theatre a try.
