MakerKids Leaside — Robotics

We recently enrolled our 9-year-old in the Robotics program at MakerKids Leaside in Toronto, and overall, it was a solid experience. My child was thrilled to build a simple robot that could be programmed to move and respond to commands, which sparked a lot of curiosity. The instructor, Sarah, was very engaging and kept the kids motivated throughout the session. I appreciated the small group size, which allowed for more personalized attention. My child even made a new friend during the class, which was a nice bonus. One minor annoyance was the pickup process—there seemed to be some disorganization, leading to a bit of a wait to collect our kids. However, the quality of the program made it worth it. I would recommend this program for kids who enjoy hands-on projects and are eager to learn about robotics.

However, I found drop-off to be a bit chaotic, with too many kids arriving at once and not enough staff to manage it smoothly. It could be improved with better organization. Despite this annoyance, my son made a new friend and came home excited each week, which makes me inclined to recommend the program with the caveat of being prepared for a slightly hectic drop-off.
