Artventures Toronto 112 Dundas St. W — Photography

We recently attended the Photography program at Artventures Toronto with my 9-year-old, and it was a solid experience. The class was small, which allowed for plenty of one-on-one time with the instructor, Sarah. She was very engaging and encouraged the kids to express their creativity through various photography challenges. My child particularly enjoyed the task of capturing interesting angles of objects around the studio. The environment was quite welcoming, and my daughter even made a friend! However, the pickup process could have been smoother; we encountered some confusion about where to collect the kids, which added a bit of stress at the end of the session. Overall, I think it’s a worthwhile program for kids who have an interest in photography, especially for those who are creative and outgoing.

The weekly sessions are reasonably priced, around $15, which is a plus for our family. My child was hesitant initially, being a bit shy, but the instructor, Sarah, was incredibly patient and engaging. She guided the kids in capturing interesting shots of their surroundings and even offered feedback on their compositions. My child built confidence as they worked on a project involving nature photography, which turned out beautifully. One small annoyance was the crowded waiting area during pickup; it was a bit chaotic and made it hard to find my child at the end. Nonetheless, the small group size during class meant that each child received plenty of attention. Overall, I'm pleased with the program and would recommend it for children who enjoy creative projects and photography.
