I recently enrolled my 9-year-old at the Academy of Music in Downtown Toronto for weekly music lessons. The instructor, Sam, has been incredibly engaging and really connects with the kids. My child is still a bit shy, but Sam’s supportive approach encourages him to participate. They started off by building a simple rhythm instrument, which my son found both fun and creative. I appreciate the small group size, allowing for personalized attention. However, I did notice that the pickup time can get a bit chaotic with long lines, especially on Saturdays, which can be frustrating. Despite that, I think the $25 trial lesson is a great way to get your child started in music. Overall, I recommend this program for kids who are interested in exploring their musical talents.
