Barnburner Hockey Academy — Hockey

My son has been attending the Barnburner Hockey Academy in Toronto for a few weeks now, and overall, we've had a good experience. The coaching staff, especially Coach Mike, is very engaging and seems genuinely invested in the kids' improvement. My son has learned to skate better and has been practicing his shooting skills. However, the pickup can be a bit chaotic; we often encounter long lines of parents waiting to collect their children, which can be frustrating. That said, my son, who is quite active, really enjoys the structured sessions and has even made a couple of friends. The cost is reasonable for the quality of training. I'd recommend it, but be prepared for some waiting around during pickup.

My son loved working on his shooting technique and even built confidence through drills that felt fun rather than overwhelming. The small group sizes allowed for more personalized attention, which I really appreciated. One downside was the long lines at check-in on the first day, which made the drop-off a bit chaotic. However, once we got through that, everything went smoothly. If your child is active and enjoys hockey, this program is a solid option for skill development.
