My son attended the Ultimate Coders program in The Junction this past semester, and overall, it was a solid experience. The instructor, Mia, was particularly engaging, keeping the kids focused while they created their own simple games and robotics projects. My son built a small robot that he was so proud to show off at pickup. The small group size allowed for personalized attention, which I appreciated. However, I did notice they spent quite a bit of time in front of screens, which I’m not entirely comfortable with. Balancing screen time with hands-on activities would be ideal. Still, my son made a couple of friends and was excited to go each week, which I think speaks to the program's overall appeal. I would recommend it, but I would have a conversation with my child’s instructor about balancing coding with other forms of engagement.
