Code Ninjas North York — Coding

We recently enrolled our 9-year-old son in the weekly coding classes at Code Ninjas North York in Toronto. The instructors, particularly a patient and friendly Code Sensei named Sarah, made a real effort to engage the kids. My son really enjoyed building his own simple video game using Scratch, which sparked his interest in coding. He was also able to make a friend during the class, which is always a win for a shy kid like him. One downside was the crowded classroom; it felt a bit overwhelming at times, especially during the pick-up when several parents were waiting. However, the staff was good at communicating where to go, so it wasn't a major issue. Overall, I think this program offers a solid introduction to coding for kids and I would recommend it with the caveat of being prepared for a busy environment.

He’s 9 and loves playing games, so learning to code was right up his alley. The instructor, Lucas, was engaging and made sure every child was involved. My son particularly enjoyed the project where they created a simple game, which he proudly showed me afterward. The small class size allowed for personalized attention, which I appreciated. One downside was the long lines during drop-off; it felt a bit hectic and could have been better organized. However, the hands-on approach to learning coding kept my son excited and motivated. He even made a couple of new friends! I would recommend this program to other parents with kids who are creative and interested in technology, but be prepared for some chaos at drop-off.
