My 12-year-old son attended the Campfire Circle Coding program in Toronto last month, and overall, it was a solid experience. The instructors, particularly a young woman named Sarah, were very engaged and made every effort to ensure the kids felt comfortable. My son was able to create his own simple game, which really lit up his creativity. The group size was small, which helped him connect with other kids, and he even made a friend, which was great to see since he can be a bit shy. However, the first day had a bit of a long lineup for check-in, and it felt a little chaotic at drop-off. The price, while on the higher side, seemed justified given the focus on kids affected by serious illness. I'd recommend this program, but just be prepared for some initial waits and give your child a heads-up about the social aspects if they're shy.
