MLSE LaunchPad — Basketball

I enrolled my 12-year-old at the MLSE LaunchPad basketball program in Toronto, and overall, it was a solid experience. The sessions are held weekly at 259 Jarvis St., which is convenient for us. My son especially enjoyed working on his shooting technique with Coach Mike, who seemed genuinely passionate about helping the kids improve. The small group size allowed for personalized attention, which was great for their skill development. However, the pickup process could be a bit chaotic at times, with long lines forming after practice. It was a bit frustrating, especially on rainy days. Still, my son made a couple of friends and is excited to go back, which makes me feel it was worth the investment. Overall, I would recommend it with a note to parents to be prepared for some wait time during pickup.

Coach Jamie was particularly engaging; he made sure the kids were not only working on their basketball skills but also fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. My son learned to shoot better and even made a new friend during the drills. However, I did notice a bit of disorganization during pickup, where it felt a bit chaotic with parents and kids mingling. The price point is a bit high, but considering the skill development and positive environment, I believe it’s worth it. Overall, I would recommend this program, especially for active kids looking to improve their game.
