Finesse Basketball - Scarborough — Basketball

My son has been attending the Finesse Basketball program in Scarborough for a few months now, and overall, it's been a solid experience. The classes are well-structured, and Coach Ryan really engages the kids, keeping them focused while having fun. My son, who is quite active, loves the drills they do, especially the shooting contests. They also emphasize teamwork, which is a great approach for this age group. However, I have noticed that sometimes the sessions can get a bit crowded, making it harder for each child to get enough individual attention. The pickup process can also be a bit chaotic at times, so I recommend arriving a little early to avoid the rush. Still, my son has made friends here and has really improved his skills, so I would recommend this program with a few caveats.

The instructor, Jake, was really engaging and did a great job making sure all the kids felt included, regardless of their skill level. My son, who is quite active, loved the drills and the chance to play games with his peers. However, the gym tends to get quite crowded, especially right before class starts, which made the pickup a bit chaotic. We had to navigate through a lot of parents and kids to find him. Despite that, I appreciated the inclusive environment and the focus on skill development. For $15 a session, I think it’s a worthwhile program, especially for kids who want to improve their basketball skills while having fun.
