The W.O.W. Project kids and family creative fun studio — Video Game Design

My 12-year-old son recently participated in The W.O.W. Project's Video Game Design class in Sydney, and overall, it was a solid experience. He really enjoyed the hands-on approach to creating his own game. Each week, they built different components, and he ended up designing a fun racing game with the help of their instructor, Jamie, who was very engaging and knowledgeable. I appreciated the small group size, which allowed for more personal attention, but I did feel that the amount of screen time could get excessive at times, especially with the focus on coding aspects. Still, the creativity it sparked in my son was fantastic. He even made a couple of friends, which was a nice bonus. The pickup process was fairly smooth, though it got a bit chaotic on the first day. Overall, I'd recommend it for kids who are creative and love gaming, just be mindful of the screen time involved.

Pickup was organized, which alleviated my initial worries about that aspect. One small annoyance was the amount of screen time involved; I'd prefer a bit more balance with hands-on activities. Nonetheless, my child came home excited and even made a few new friends. If you're looking for a creative outlet for your child, I recommend this program with the caveat of monitoring screen time.
