My 9-year-old, Max, recently attended the Video Game Design program at Skill Samurai in Sydney. The weekly sessions were well-structured and focused on building not just coding skills but also creativity through game development. Max created an exciting adventure game, which he was thrilled to share with us. The instructor, Sam, was very engaged with the kids and took the time to ensure everyone understood the concepts. I appreciated the small group size as it allowed for personalized attention. However, I noticed there was quite a bit of screen time, which can be a concern for some parents. Overall, I found the program to be a great way for Max to explore his interests in gaming while learning valuable skills. I would recommend it, but keep an eye on the screen time aspect.
