Spanish Playgroup Pre K — Languages

We recently enrolled our 4-year-old in the Spanish Playgroup Pre K program in Seattle. The classes are held every Thursday morning, and my child, who is quite shy, was initially hesitant. However, the instructor, Maria, was wonderful at engaging the kids. She led them in a fun activity where they built miniature houses using colorful blocks while learning simple Spanish vocabulary related to home and family. It was a great mix of creativity and language learning. One downside was the long lines during pickup, which made it a bit chaotic at times. However, the smaller group size allowed for more personalized attention, which was a plus for our shy child. Overall, I appreciated the focus on interactive learning and would recommend this program to other parents, but be prepared for a little patience at pickup.

The instructors, particularly a lovely teacher named Carla, were genuinely engaged with the kids, which made a big difference. My child was shy initially but warmed up quickly to the small group setting, where they built a colorful 'casa' out of construction paper and learned basic Spanish words associated with it. The hands-on activities kept them interested and excited about learning. However, I did notice that the pickup process could be a bit chaotic with long lines, which made it challenging to navigate at times. Despite this, I believe the program is worth it for the language exposure and creative projects my child is involved in. We look forward to continuing as they progress.
