outgoing

I enrolled my 6-year-old at Atlas Immersion Academy in Northeast Portland for their language program. The weekly sessions are designed for kids aged 5-12, and my child has shown noticeable improvement in both speaking and comprehension since starting. The instructor, Maria, was particularly engaging, using songs and stories to teach the language in a fun way. My child built a mini puppet theater during one session, which led to a lot of enthusiastic play. The small group size really allows for individualized attention, which I appreciate. The only downside was the extra costs for materials that weren't clearly stated upfront, which added to the overall price. Despite that, I think the program is well worth it, especially for outgoing kids who thrive in immersive environments. I would recommend it with the caveat to budget for those extras.

shy

We enrolled our 6-year-old in the Atlas Immersion Academy's language program in Northeast Portland, and overall, it was a solid experience. The small group size allowed for more personalized attention, which was great for my shy child. Instructor Mia was particularly engaging and really took the time to make language learning fun through creative projects, like crafting storybooks in Spanish. However, we did experience some long lines during pickup, which made it a bit chaotic at times. My child really enjoyed making a friend during the sessions, and they often talked enthusiastically about the activities. The weekly schedule works well for us, and for the price, I feel it’s a decent investment in language skills. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait at the end of the day.
