Oregon Ballet Theatre — Dance

We recently enrolled my 6-year-old daughter in the Oregon Ballet Theatre’s weekly dance program in Portland, and overall, it has been a positive experience. The instructor, Mia, is incredibly engaging and has a knack for making the kids feel comfortable. My daughter has learned some basic ballet positions and even created a little dance routine that she loves to practice at home. The small group size is a big plus, as it allows for more personalized attention. However, I do wish they would communicate the extra costs for the recital costumes up front, as it felt a bit like an unexpected expense. Pickup went smoothly, and the staff was friendly and efficient. While I have a few minor concerns, I can see how this program has sparked my daughter's creativity, and I would recommend it to parents looking for a supportive dance environment.

The program also offers a variety of activities beyond ballet, which keeps the kids engaged while allowing them to express their creativity. Overall, I’d recommend it for kids in this age group, but be prepared for some logistical hiccups during pickup.
