Sports Plus Day Camp — Basketball

My son recently attended the Sports Plus Day Camp for basketball in Portland, and overall, it was a solid experience. He’s 12 and loves the sport, so I was pleased to see him so engaged throughout the day. The instructors, especially a coach named Jake, were very attentive and made sure each child got plenty of time on the court. They focused on skill-building while promoting teamwork, which I appreciated. One thing I did find slightly annoying was the long lines during pickup; it seemed a bit chaotic at times, which could be frustrating after a long day for both kids and parents. However, the camp provided a lot of outdoor time, and my son came home excited about the friends he made. It’s a bit pricey at around $400, but if your child is serious about basketball and enjoys team activities, I think it’s worth it. Would definitely recommend with a heads-up about the pickup situation.

However, they always had a structured outdoor time that my son loved, and he even made a couple of friends in the process. Overall, I would recommend this camp, especially if your child is active and loves basketball, but just keep an eye on the drop-off times.
