Wild Roots Explorers — Nature & Outdoors

I enrolled my 6-year-old in the Wild Roots Explorers program in New York, and overall, it was a great experience. The kids spent the entire day outside, which my active child loved. They engaged in various activities, from nature scavenger hunts to building a small shelter with branches and leaves. The instructor, Jake, was enthusiastic and kept the kids engaged throughout the day. My child also made a new friend, which was lovely to see. However, the pickup process could be improved. We had to wait in a long line, and it felt a bit chaotic, making it stressful to get my child at the end of the day. Despite that, I would recommend this program for its hands-on learning and outdoor focus, especially for active kids who enjoy exploring nature.

The staff, especially our instructor Jamie, was genuinely engaged with the kids, making each outdoor adventure feel special. My daughter loved building a small birdhouse with her group and learning about the different types of birds in the area. The small group size really allowed for individual attention, which was a plus. However, I did find the pickup process a bit chaotic. We waited in long lines to collect our kids, which was frustrating after a busy day. Despite that, she came home exhausted and happy, and I appreciated the hands-on learning about nature. I would certainly recommend this program, especially for active kids who enjoy exploring. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait at the end of the day!
