I enrolled my 9-year-old son in the Manchester Learning Zone's weekly coding program, and overall, it’s been a worthwhile experience. The instructor, Emma, was particularly engaging and made the concepts accessible without overwhelming the kids. Each session, my son had the chance to work on different creative projects; last week, he built a simple game that he was really proud of. I appreciated the small group size, which allowed for more individualized attention. However, pickup tended to be a bit chaotic, with long lines forming as parents arrived at the end of each session. My son, who can be quite shy, seemed to thrive in this supportive environment and even made a new friend. If you're considering it for your child, just be prepared for some wait time at pickup, but it’s otherwise a solid program for budding coders.
