Spark4Kids — Video Game Design

My son, who is 9, recently attended the Spark4Kids Video Game Design program in London, and overall, it was a rewarding experience. The staff, including our instructor Jamie, was very engaging and encouraged the kids to express their creativity while learning about game mechanics. My son designed a simple platformer and was thrilled to see it come to life on the screen. One small annoyance was the length of time spent in front of screens; I would have preferred a balance with more hands-on activities. However, Jamie communicated well, ensuring the kids understood the concepts behind their projects. The weekly format worked well for us, although I wish the program provided more detailed information about the content in advance. We will likely enroll again, though I'll keep an eye on the screen time. All in all, a solid choice for creative kids!

One minor annoyance was the chaos during pickup times; it was a bit crowded, and I had to wait longer than expected to collect him. However, the positive experience outweighed this inconvenience. Jake came home excited every week, sharing new concepts and ideas with me. I would recommend it to other parents, especially if your child is creative and focused.
