My 12-year-old attended the Video Game Design program at Codecamp Limited in London last week, and overall, it was a solid experience. The instructor, Jake, was incredibly engaging, which kept the kids focused throughout the session. They worked on creating their own simple video games using software that was suitable for their age group. My child was thrilled to show me their game, complete with fun characters and levels they designed themselves. One small annoyance was the amount of screen time; I would have preferred more hands-on activities away from the computers. Pickup was smooth, and the small group size allowed for more personalized attention, which I appreciated. My child made a new friend during the program, which was a nice bonus. I would recommend this program, but keep in mind the screen time aspect if your child is sensitive to that.
