We enrolled our 12-year-old, Emma, in the Workshop West Playwrights' Theatre program in Edmonton, and overall, it was a solid experience. The instructors, especially Sarah, were incredibly engaging, and Emma loved working on her scene from a new Canadian play. The creative projects allowed her to express herself in ways she hadn't before, and she even made a new friend, which was a great bonus. However, I found the pickup process a bit chaotic, with long lines that sometimes made it difficult to find her. Additionally, it might be too much for really shy kids to join in, but Emma, being somewhat reserved yet creative, thrived in this environment. The program is reasonably priced considering the skills they learn and the friendships they form, but be prepared for the occasional wait. We would definitely recommend it to other parents.

I enrolled my 12-year-old in the Workshop West Playwrights' Theatre program in Edmonton, and we had a positive experience overall. The small group size allowed for personalized attention, and my child thrived in the creative environment. They worked on a project that involved writing and performing a short play, which really tapped into their imagination. The instructor, Jamie, was very engaging and provided constructive feedback that encouraged my child to push their boundaries. However, I did notice some long lines during pickup, which made it a little chaotic at times. Despite that, I think it's a solid program for budding young playwrights and performers, especially those who are creative. My child made a few friends, which is always a plus. I'd recommend it, but just be prepared for the pickup delays.
