My daughter recently participated in the Youth Singers of Calgary Theatre program, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The weekly sessions are held at a local community center in Calgary, and she loved creating her own short skit with the help of her instructor, Emma. Emma was engaging and encouraged the kids to express their ideas freely. I appreciated the inclusive environment that allowed my shy child to feel comfortable sharing her creative side. One small annoyance was the drop-off process; it was a bit chaotic with many parents arriving at the same time, making it hard to find a parking spot. However, once inside, my daughter quickly made a friend and was excited to participate in all the singing and acting activities. I recommend this program for its supportive staff and creative projects, but be prepared for a somewhat hectic drop-off situation. Overall, it’s been a rewarding experience for her development.

I enrolled my 9-year-old daughter in the Youth Singers of Calgary Theatre program, and overall, it was a great experience. The instructors, like Lily, were incredibly engaged and made sure each child felt included. My daughter particularly enjoyed working on her monologue and participating in group scenes; it was fantastic to see her express herself creatively. The downside was the long lines during pickup, which can be frustrating when you’re eager to hear about their day. However, the encouraging environment helped her connect with peers and build confidence. She’s already made a friend here, which is wonderful for her social development. I'd recommend it for any child interested in theatre, just be prepared for a bit of a wait at the end of the session.
