I recently took my 9-year-old daughter to the West Village Theatre in Calgary for their weekly theater program, and overall, it was a solid experience. The space is cozy, which allowed the kids to feel more relaxed during performances. The instructor, Jamie, was particularly engaging and encouraged the children to express themselves freely. My daughter loved creating her own character and even built a mini-set piece out of recycled materials as part of the creative project. It was wonderful to see her so involved. My only complaint would be the long lines during pickup, which could definitely use a bit more organization. Other than that, the communication from the staff was clear, and the small group size meant that each child got plenty of attention. I’d recommend this program for kids who enjoy being creative and performing, just be prepared for a bit of waiting when picking up your child.

We recently took my 9-year-old to the West Village Theatre in Calgary for their weekly theatre program, and overall, it was a positive experience. The venue is cozy, which I appreciated, and my child had the opportunity to participate in a creative project where they crafted their own character. Their instructor, a friendly guy named Matt, really engaged with the kids and made them feel comfortable. I noticed my child, who is quite outgoing, made a new friend during the activity, which was great to see. One downside was the long line during pickup; it got a bit chaotic, and I felt the communication could have been clearer about where to line up. Despite that, the small group size meant that my child received lots of individual attention, and I think they came away with a stronger appreciation for theatre. I would recommend this program, especially for kids who enjoy being creative and performing.
