Inside Out Theatre — Theatre

My 12-year-old daughter participated in the Inside Out Theatre program in Calgary this past spring. She really enjoyed the chance to express her creativity through drama, and it was heartening to see how inclusive the environment was. The instructor, Jamie, was exceptionally patient and engaged the kids well, allowing them to explore their talents without pressure. They worked on a short play, and my daughter built a really fun character, which boosted her confidence. The only downside was the pickup process; it could get a bit chaotic at times, especially since the space is on the smaller side. Overall, though, I think it was a great experience for her to make friends and gain theatre skills. I would recommend it for kids who enjoy creative outlets, just be prepared for a few logistics challenges during drop-off and pick-up.

The weekly classes were engaging, and my child really enjoyed the creative projects, especially building a character for their play. The instructor, Sarah, was very patient and connected well with all the kids, making sure everyone felt included. However, I did find the drop-off process a bit chaotic; it was sometimes hard to find a clear way in and out with all the parents and kids. My child is quite shy, but they made a friend who also shares a love for storytelling. If you're considering it for your child, I'd definitely recommend it, as long as you're prepared for a slightly hectic drop-off.
