Calgary Actors' Studio — Theatre

My 15-year-old daughter has been attending the Calgary Actors' Studio for the past few months, and overall, it's been a solid experience. The classes are well-structured and cater to different skill levels, which is great for her as she is quite shy but passionate about acting. Last week, she participated in a small scene from a classic play, and her instructor, Jenna, was very encouraging and provided constructive feedback. I appreciated that the class size was small, allowing more individual attention. However, there were a few long lines during pickup, which made it a bit chaotic at times. Despite this minor annoyance, I would recommend the program for its engaging staff and the creative projects they undertake. It's a wonderful space for kids to express themselves and build confidence in a supportive environment.

The instructor, Jamie, was very engaging and made the kids feel comfortable right away. They worked on a short play, and my daughter loved being part of the creative process, from writing to rehearsing. The small group size allowed for plenty of personalized attention, which I really appreciated. However, the pickup process was a bit chaotic; there were long lines forming as parents waited to collect their kids. It could definitely use some organization. Despite this minor annoyance, I think my daughter gained confidence and made some new friends, which is a win in my book. I would recommend this program to other parents, especially for kids who are shy or looking to explore their creativity.
