We recently enrolled our 9-year-old in the weekly tennis program at Willow Ridge Community Association in Calgary. Overall, it’s been a solid experience. The staff, particularly Coach Emily, were genuinely engaged with the kids, which made the sessions enjoyable for my son. He was excited to learn the basics and even managed to hit a few serves over the net by the end of the first class. The small group size allowed for personalized attention, which was great to see. However, I did notice some long lines during the sign-up process, which led to some initial frustration. It would help if there were more staff available during pickup to streamline this. Despite that, we found it to be a great outdoor activity that keeps him active and helps him socialize with other kids his age. We will likely continue attending this program for the rest of the season.

My son participated in the tennis program at Willow Ridge Community Association in Calgary, and overall, we had a positive experience. The classes are held weekly, and the instructors, particularly a coach named Mike, were engaging and attentive. My son, who is quite active, really enjoyed learning the basics of tennis and made some new friends while playing. However, one minor annoyance was the long lines at the beginning of each session; it took a while for everyone to get organized. Despite that, the small group size meant that he received plenty of personal attention. The outdoor setting was a real highlight, and I appreciated that it got him active in a fun way. We’ll definitely be returning next week and would recommend this program to other parents, especially for kids who enjoy sports.
