The Glencoe Club — Tennis

My son recently joined the tennis program at The Glencoe Club in Calgary, and overall, it has been a solid experience. The pickup process has been efficient, which has made my life easier. Our instructor, Mark, was great at engaging the kids, ensuring they learned the basics while also keeping things fun and light. My son particularly enjoyed the drills where they practiced serving and rallying with each other. However, I did notice that the sessions can get a bit crowded, especially on weekends, which makes it challenging for some kids to get enough one-on-one time with the coach. Despite this small annoyance, my son has shown great improvement and has made some friends in the process. I would recommend this program, but it might be worth checking the schedules to avoid peak times.

The staff, particularly Coach Jake, were engaging and made the lessons fun, which kept my son excited about learning new skills. He particularly enjoyed the small group sizes, which allowed for more personalized coaching. However, I did find the pickup process a bit chaotic at times, especially when lessons overlapped. It seemed like there were long lines of parents trying to collect their kids, which could be improved. On the positive side, my son made a new friend during the program, and it was great to see him being active and enjoying the outdoors. The price is on the higher side, but I felt it was worth it for the quality of instruction. I would recommend this program with the caveat to expect some fuss during pickups.
