My 9-year-old son has been attending the Edgemont Athletic tennis program in Calgary for a few weeks now, and overall, it's been a solid experience. The instructors, particularly a friendly guy named Jake, seem genuinely invested in teaching the kids proper techniques while keeping the atmosphere light-hearted. My son has already improved his serve and made a couple of friends in the small group setting, which is a huge plus. However, the check-in process can get a bit chaotic sometimes, with long lines forming as parents drop off their kids, which can be frustrating. The outdoor time is great for the kids, and I appreciate their focus on building skills without overwhelming them. If you're looking for a program that balances fun with learning, Edgemont Athletic is worth considering, just be prepared for some potential wait times during pickup.

While the outdoor setting is great for kids to burn off energy, I would suggest bringing sun protection, as there isn’t much shade at the courts. Despite the minor inconvenience, I would recommend this program for active kids looking to develop their tennis skills in a supportive environment. My son made a few friends and is excited to return next week.
