We recently enrolled our 6-year-old at the Sir Winston Churchill Aquatic & Recreation Centre for swimming lessons. Overall, it was a good experience. The instructors, like Jenna, were very engaging and worked well with the kids. My child was excited to learn how to float and even managed to practice some kicking techniques. I appreciated the small group size, which allowed for more personalized attention. However, we did encounter long lines during drop-off, which made it a bit chaotic at the start. It was sometimes hard to keep track of where to go amidst the crowd. Once in the water, though, my child felt confident and happy. They even made a friend during the session, which was a bonus. I would recommend this program, but it might be wise to arrive a bit early to avoid the lines. Overall, a solid choice for active kids learning to swim.

We recently enrolled my 6-year-old in swimming lessons at the Sir Winston Churchill Aquatic & Recreation Centre in Calgary. The instructors, particularly a friendly woman named Maria, were very engaged and attentive, which helped my child feel comfortable right away. She was excited to learn and ended up building confidence in the water, which was great to see. The small group size really allowed for personalized attention, which I appreciated. However, the facility was a bit crowded during our session, making it challenging to find space for my child to practice her skills without bumping into others. Also, the pickup area could be confusing for new parents. Overall, I think it’s a solid program, and I would recommend it with the caveat to arrive early to navigate the crowds.
