We took our 6-year-old to the swimming program at the Renfrew Aquatic & Recreation Centre in Calgary last Saturday, and overall, it was a solid experience. The instructor, Sarah, was really engaged and made sure each child felt comfortable in the water. My child learned how to float and even managed to swim a short distance—an accomplishment we’re proud of. The small group size helped keep the kids focused and allowed for more personalized attention. However, I did notice that the facility got quite crowded, especially during the pick-up period, which made it a bit chaotic trying to find my child among the other parents. It would have been helpful to have a clearer system for managing the flow of parents and kids after the session. Nevertheless, I think my child had a lot of fun and was definitely active during the class, so I would recommend this program with a bit of caution regarding timing.
