Foothills Aquatic Centre — Swimming

My seven-year-old recently attended swimming lessons at the Foothills Aquatic Centre in Calgary, and overall, we had a positive experience. The instructors, including a friendly guy named Jason, were attentive and kept the kids engaged throughout the class. My child particularly loved learning new strokes and even made a new friend during the lesson. Pickup was smooth, which was a plus for my busy schedule. However, it was quite crowded during our visit, which made it a bit chaotic at times when trying to find a spot for my child to get ready. Despite this, I felt the small group size allowed for enough individual attention. I’d recommend this program to other parents, especially if your child is active and enjoys swimming. Just be prepared for the possibility of a packed facility.

The instructor, Emma, was fantastic and very engaging, which kept my child excited about learning to swim. They worked on basic strokes and even got to practice diving in. The small group size meant that each child got plenty of attention, which was a big plus for us. The pick-up process was smooth, which I appreciated after a busy day. However, we did hit a snag with long lines at the entrance, which made us feel a bit rushed at the start of the lesson. Overall, it was a solid experience for an active child like mine, and we will definitely be returning for more lessons.
