Sport Calgary — Soccer

I recently enrolled my 9-year-old son in the Sport Calgary soccer program, and overall, it has been a solid experience. The sessions are held weekly at a local park, which provides plenty of outdoor time for the kids. Our instructor, Mike, is very engaging and has a genuine passion for teaching the game. My son has learned a lot, especially in his dribbling skills, and he really enjoyed the team-building exercises they did. One small annoyance was the long lines during check-in, which could be better organized. However, once the kids were on the field, everything seemed to flow well. My son made a friend on the first day, which is a plus. I’d recommend this program for its friendly environment and skilled staff, but I hope they address the check-in issue to make things smoother in the future.

The outdoor time was a definite highlight for him, enjoying the fresh air while being active with his peers. However, we did encounter some long lines during the check-in process, which was a bit frustrating, especially on busy days. But once we got through, the sessions were well-organized. My son has already made a new friend through the program, and he’s looking forward to the next practice. If you're in Calgary and your child is active, this program is worth considering, just be prepared for a bit of a wait at drop-off.
