Eastside Memorial FC Soccer Club — Soccer

We recently enrolled our 6-year-old in the Eastside Memorial FC Soccer Club in Calgary, and overall, it’s been a solid experience. The practices are held at the Dr. Gladys Egbert School, which is a nice facility with ample space to run around. I must commend Coach Lisa, who really engages the kids and keeps things fun while teaching them skills. My son particularly enjoyed learning to dribble and even managed to score a goal during practice last week! One minor annoyance was the long lines for check-in on the first day, which made it a bit chaotic. However, the pickup process has been smooth since then, and I appreciate the outdoor time. Plus, my son has made a couple of friends already, which is great for his social skills. I'd recommend it, especially if your child is active and loves soccer, but be prepared for some initial disorganization.

However, Coach Jake was engaging and managed the group well. My child built confidence while learning basic soccer skills and even made a new friend during drills. The outdoor time was refreshing, and I appreciated how the emphasis was on fun rather than intense competition. One minor annoyance was the limited parking at the venue, which can get hectic during busy times. But, the weekly schedule is convenient, and the price is reasonable for what’s offered. I would recommend it for active kids, but be prepared for some chaos at pickup and drop-off.
