Calgary Minor Soccer Association — Soccer

We enrolled my 6-year-old son in the Calgary Minor Soccer Association's weekly soccer program this season, and overall, it has been a solid experience. The pickup process was a bit chaotic at times, especially on the first few days, where we had to deal with long lines, but it did smooth out after that. Coach Sarah was wonderful with the kids, making sure everyone felt included and encouraging them to play their best. My son loved learning how to dribble and even scored a goal during practice! The outdoor time was a highlight for him, as he’s a very active child. One downside was that the fields got pretty crowded, especially when multiple age groups were practicing at the same time. Nonetheless, I would recommend this program for parents looking for a supportive soccer environment for their kids.

I appreciated the outdoor time, as it was a great way for him to burn off some energy. However, we did encounter some long lines during registration, which was a bit frustrating, especially with a restless five-year-old in tow. Once on the field, my son made a friend right away, and they enjoyed working on their passing skills together. The weekly practices were well-structured and emphasized fun while learning the basics of soccer. I would recommend this program, but just be prepared for some waiting at the start of the season.
