TELUS Spark Science Centre — Science

We recently attended the full-day program at TELUS Spark Science Centre in Calgary with my 6-year-old. Right from the pickup at 9 AM, the staff were friendly and engaging, making the sign-in process smooth. My child particularly loved the hands-on experiments in the lab area, where they got to build a simple rocket and launch it—seeing their excitement was worth the visit alone. However, I did find the main exhibit area quite crowded, which made it a bit challenging to navigate with younger kids. They also have a planetarium that we didn’t get a chance to see due to the long lines, so that was a slight disappointment. Overall, it was a solid experience with plenty of creative projects that kept my child engaged for hours. I’d recommend it for active kids, just be prepared for a bustling environment.

Also, the snack options were decent, which was a plus. One small annoyance was the chaotic pickup process; it felt unorganized during busy times. But I would recommend this program for parents looking to spark their child's interest in science. Just be prepared for bigger crowds on weekends.
