Roots 2 STEM — Robotics

I enrolled my 9-year-old son in the Roots 2 STEM Robotics program in Calgary, and we’ve had a solid experience so far. The class size is small, which allows for more hands-on learning, and his instructor, Mike, was really engaging, making complex concepts easier for the kids to grasp. My son built a mini robot that he programmed to navigate a maze, and he was so proud to show off his work at the end of the session. One downside was the long lines during drop-off; it felt a bit chaotic at times. However, once inside, the environment was inclusive and supportive. Overall, I’d recommend the program for other parents looking to spark their child's interest in STEM, just be prepared for a little wait at the start of each class.

My 9-year-old built a small robot that could navigate through a maze, which sparked a lot of excitement at home. The class size was small, allowing for personalized attention, which I appreciated. However, I did notice that the drop-off process was a bit chaotic, with long lines forming as parents waited to sign in their kids. That added an unnecessary stress to the start of the program. Still, my child felt included and found it a great opportunity to be creative and work with peers. I would recommend it, but it might help to arrive a little early to manage the pickup better.
