My 9-year-old recently finished a photography class at Grasby Art Studio in Calgary, and overall, it was a solid experience. The instructor, Emma, really knew how to engage the kids and encouraged them to creatively explore their surroundings. My child loved learning to capture different perspectives and even created a small photo album as a project. The small group size allowed for personalized attention, which was great. However, I found the communication from the studio could be a bit lacking; I didn’t receive timely updates about class schedules and activities, which left me a little unsure at times. Despite this, my child came home excited each week, and I can see their skills developing. I’d recommend this class for parents looking for a creative outlet for their kids, just keep an eye on communication details.

My daughter and I attended the Photography class at Grasby Art Studio in Calgary for a few weeks now, and it has been quite a journey for her. The instructor, Mia, was very approachable and really took the time to engage with each child, helping them explore different photography techniques. During one session, my daughter learned how to use natural light to capture textures, which she found fascinating. The small group size allowed everyone to get individual attention, which I appreciated. However, the lines at pickup can be a bit long, especially on busy days, and it would be great if they could streamline that process. Overall, the program has been a wonderful creative outlet for my daughter, and I can see her growing more confident with each class. I’d definitely recommend it, but just plan to arrive early for pickup.
