Wild Life Outdoor Adventures — Nature & Outdoors

We recently participated in the Wild Life Outdoor Adventures program in Calgary with my 6-year-old. The outdoor adventure kits were a hit, and my child particularly enjoyed building a birdhouse from the craft materials provided. Our instructor, Sarah, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, which kept the kids engaged throughout the session. However, it was a bit chaotic during pickup, as we had to wait in a long line to get our kits, which was a little frustrating after an exciting day. Overall, my child made a new friend during the activities and had a fantastic time exploring nature. I’d recommend this program for its creative projects and emphasis on outdoor time, but be prepared for potential wait times.

The instructor, Jake, really engaged the kids with fun activities, helping them make nature journals and identify local plants. My son was especially excited to find a ladybug and included it in his journal. The small group size allowed for personal attention, which was great. However, the location had limited shade, and I noticed a few kids feeling a bit sun-exposed at times. It's a weekly program that costs around $40, which seems reasonable for the quality of gear provided. While there were a few minor annoyances, the overall outdoor time and opportunity for my son to connect with nature made it worthwhile. I would recommend it, but make sure to bring along a hat and sunscreen.
