My son attended the Mad Science of Southern Alberta's Nature & Outdoors program in Calgary, and he had a blast exploring the different aspects of nature. Every week, the small group size allowed him to really engage with the activities and interact closely with Ms. Jessica, who was enthusiastic and made learning fun. They built bird feeders and learned about local wildlife, which sparked a lot of curiosity in him. The only downside was the long lines during pickup, which could get a bit chaotic at times. Overall, I would recommend this program for active kids, as it balances learning with plenty of outdoor time, but it might be a bit trying for those who are more reserved. We will definitely continue attending for this session!

My 4-year-old had a great time in the Mad Science Nature & Outdoors program in Calgary. Each week, they got the chance to explore different outdoor activities that sparked their curiosity. I really appreciated the engaged staff, especially our instructor, Mia, who was always enthusiastic and made learning fun. My child particularly enjoyed building a small birdhouse and learning about the different types of birds that visit our area. However, I did notice that pickup could get a bit chaotic with the long lines, which was a slight annoyance. Overall, it was a solid experience that involved hands-on learning in a fun environment. I'd recommend this program for active kids who love being outside, but just be prepared for the busy pickup process.
